Prepaid and commitment plans
Bill several deliveries at once, or require a minimum number of orders.
Prepaid plans
A prepaid plan bills less often than it delivers: for example, deliver every month and bill every three months, so the customer pays for three deliveries up front.
Open the plan
Go to Subscriptions > Products, open the product and add or edit a plan.
Set the delivery frequency
Choose how often the product ships, for example every month.
Set the billing frequency
Under Billing frequency (advanced), set a longer interval, for example every 3 months. Billing must be a whole multiple of delivery.
Save
Save the plan. Shopify creates the scheduled deliveries for each charge.
On the product page the subscribe box shows the price per delivery and the total per charge, and the frequency option reads, for example, Every month · 3 deliveries prepaid.
Minimum number of orders
Minimum billing cycles is a commitment: the number of charges before the customer can cancel. The subscribe box shows it as Minimum N orders. Leave it at 1 for no commitment.
